Day 6 of My Confessions

Day 6 of my Confessions😱 #friendship-struggles, seasons & revelations. 💃🏽Let’s do this😁😂😜

Today I share my heart on friendships and how I’ve struggled with seasonal relationships and coming to terms with recognizing real friendships.  Too often we confuse unhealthy co-dependent relationships or people who are around you for their own gain for real friendships.  In any event, it is so important that we don’t burn bridges out of hurt and pain because we may very well want to cross back over that bridge later on in life.  It is important to not that if a bridge has been burned, there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that you’d like to work on building a new one.

Also included in this video I share a word of encouragement that I would go back and tell myself back in high school.

Day 5 My Confessions

Day 5 of my Confessions Southern Belle snowed in #hegotitfromme😰😳😁 Time to Push back

I’m still going strong with my confessions, watch here .  I’m amazed at how much better I feel afterwards.  Have you started confessing anything?  Whether or not you are ready to share your confessions to the world, at least make the effort to confessing to yourself.  But,  don’t stop there, remember to forgive yourself and don’t dwell on the mistakes.  The important thing here is that we learn from them.

Confession Day 2

Today was a crazy and amazing day.  What can I say taking off that mask felt good.  My first Confession yesterday was so far from perfect and I am ok with that.   It is what it is.  There’s a huge learning curve for me, and as I keep at this I will get it.   Thank you for taking this journey with me.

I promised that I would do a confession every day until I run out of things to confess.  Wonder how long this will last?  Me too.  I’m excited and shocked by some of the things I will share.  I’m committed to this so, there was no way I was going to miss Day Two.  I barely started before the day was over, but I won’t hold that against myself.   The plan was to put the kids to bed then get on periscope.  Of course it took longer than I’d hoped and one was determined to join in.  So in effort to make my deadline I let him come and watch.  Ha!  You will noticed he couldn’t stand the sidelines.

Warning…he will say something that will break your heart and someone out there may want to judge and say I’m a bad mother.  Well let me beat you to the point.  I’m a  mother who is learning  via on-the-job-training.  I’m allowed to make mistakes.  The important thing is that I fix them when I become aware.  Which is exactly what I did,  I promptly said my good byes and went off to spend time with him on his terms.  We ate cheerios in his bed while playing UNO.  Ha!  I love when correction has it’s rewards.  I am so blessed.  I’ll cherish my lesson from this.

I sure hope this is freeing to others.  Now that I’m tasting freedom, I can’t help but want to be apart of the liberation movement.  I’d love it if you join me.  Follow me on Periscope @diffusingthetea to get alerts and watch live.  You can even confess with me live.  What fun right?Another option is to share your confession on social media with the #MyConfessions and tag me on the following social media platforms:

Am I really doing this?

12507506_10153402668342337_7687398216867434211_nConfession time: This weekend I took off a mask that I’ve been wearing for so long that I don’t know when I put it on. I must say liberation feels good. It’s a shame I lived in fear of being me. Why was I so afraid?

I’m sure the mask will try to force its way back on but I refuse to live bound.

As part of my efforts to remain free I have decided to obey my Father and share my confessions with the world.

Everyday I will share a confession via Periscope. This will go on until I run out. To say I’m scared is an understatement! But my fear of loosing my freedom is greater.

If you want to keep up with my journey follow me on Periscope live @diffusingthetea

I’ll try to post the replay on Twitter @DiffusingtheTEA and via Oilychic on Instagram

Making Foaming Hand Soap

DIY Foaming Hand Soap- so easy to do that you’ll wonder what took you so long to try this.  To make this soap you will need  a foaming soap bottle- can be recycled or you can purchase one.  I have done both.  Three of mine are recycled and I picked up a cute one from Target.

Foaming hand soap dispenser                                                                                                                                     2-3 TBSP Castile Soap ( I use 3 for more foam)

3 drops Vitamin E oil or vegetable glycerin

10 drops of essential oil* ( My favorites for soap or Thieves,  Lavender, or Joy blend)

Filtered  Water- gently fill leaving about an inch or two at the top

*I would not recommend using citrus oils since most soap pumps are plastic and citrus oils eat through the plastics releasing chemicals.  Also citrus oils are photosensitive and you should not apply them to skin that will be exposed to the sun within 24hours.

Farm Share

Today I’m sharing how to eat healthy and affordably.

Last year my family joined a local Farm Share also known as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) near our home.   This was a step in the right direction for us. It encourages us to not only eat more fruits and veggies but expands the variety of foods in our diet.  Each week we arrive at the farm anxious to see what we will take home for the week.  We have no control over what we get, but everything is fresh and in season.   Last year I discovered that my son and I love mushrooms and made acorn squash soup and zucchini bread for the first time.  This year I am on a mission to tackle some new items in my box.   If you have any suggestions for my eggplant or any other items, please share.

Another great thing about being  in a Farm Share is the savings.  Here in Pennsylvania my CSA runs from June through October.  For these four months the amount of produce I bring home far outweighs what it would cost me to purchase these items in a grocery store.  Now, if you have a smaller family or younger kids who don’t eat as much you can get away with splitting a seasonal membership with another family which is what we do.  Typically the amount of food we get is enough for our two families to split.  However, when items are popular in both homes or we only get a one or a few of something we have to get creative in our sharing.  Sometimes we’ll say “I’ll take the melon this week and you’ll get next weeks melon” or  one of us would take it and give the other more of something else.  I’ve also been known to purchase extra from the farmer if available then trade out my share of the single or small quantity item for more of something else.  The great thing about purchasing from the farm is the awesome value.  You will see what I’m talking about in this video.

I hope this helps you see that eating healthy doesn’t have to break the bank.  Interested in finding a CSA near you, click here.

Young Living Essential Oils: Often Imitated but Never Duplicated.

I’m back from Young Living’s 2015 Convention.  What an amazing time it was.  First, let me just describe for you how huge this event was.  Due to the large number of people who want to attend the convention Young Living had to break it up into two sessions.  That’s right, we are so big that we had to host the convention twice with each session boasting 10,000 people.  What’s even crazier is that both sessions sold out long before convention. Session A sold out within days of it being announced back in January and Session B was fully booked more than a month out.  This just goes to show you how hungry people are for more knowledge and tools to do better by their bodies and enhance their health and wellness.

A group of friends and I did a convention recap for our Facebook group.  As part of my contribution I did a video to share my thoughts about Young Living as well as our founder and former CEO, D.Gary Young.   I’m not one who is into idolizing and worshipping man, so please don’t take my admiration and respect out of context.   After hearing Gary Young speak about essential oils, I have a greater appreciation for what he has done to make Young Living what it is today.

There is no doubt in my mind that Young Living’s essential oils are  of a superior quality and second to none.  Although essential oils have been around for along time and can be found in just about every health food store, it was Gary Young who has made essential oil use and more specifically Therapeutic Grade oils use more mainstream in his attempt to make sure that every home in the world has access to God’s gift to us.
